The Inner Child Experiment: Part III

Welcome back to the third and final post on The Inner Child Experiment! Here’s the first post and second post in case you missed them. Below are the daily challenges that made up the second half of the month.

16. Whistle something for a few minutes. It could be a favorite song, a melody, animal sounds, freestyle – whatever calls to you.

17. Make the ‘lollipop sound’ with your cheeks several times in public.

18. Smile and wave at someone in a car next to you when you’re at a stoplight.

19. Pat your belly with your hands to make a drumming sound. Follow that up by saying ‘aww’, then pat your mouth to make a “wah-wah” sound.

20. Find an old kids’ show on YouTube (e.g. Sesame Street, JP Patches, Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood), and watch a five-minute clip.

21. While eating a meal, make some “yum,” “mmm,” or any other sounds or words that add to the delight of the experience.

22. Twirl a ball on your finger or try juggling for a few minutes.

23. Take some pots and pans, along with spatulas and spoons, and play some ‘drums.’

24. Wrap some tinfoil around your teeth and pretend to have braces. Smile at yourself in the mirror.

25. Taste a flavor you’ve never tasted before. It could be a mashup of different sauces you combine in a new way, a brand-new food, or something else entirely.

26. Pick up some small rocks or pebbles and try to hit a target of your choice. If you’re near a body of water, try skipping the rocks.

27. Look at clouds in the sky and see if you can find five shapes that resemble something you know – an animal, a person, an object, or anything else.

28. Hug a tree and thank it for all it provides us.

29. Find a friend and play a hand-clapping game of your choice.

30. Brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand.

And that completes the thirty-day Inner Child Experiment.

As always, please share your experiences in the comments section.
